Mrs.Honeycutt

This film premiered at filmSPARK 2015.

I contributed to the original story and screenplay as well the production design, costumes, art direction and still photography.

I created all the branding, posters and film festival materials.

My role as Assistant Director found that the challenge of working with a few non-actors, including myself!, presented opportunities to be very fluid and open during filming. Another challenge was our time shift (of location, authenticity and costumes) from 1950 to current day.

The story is entirely fiction, but on some level we knew this story with themes of lost love, racism and social expectations probably happened somewhere in the South circa 1950.

Synopsis

A short film of hope and love. Jesse has given up on life but when a birthday card arrives and along with a memory from 60 years ago it reminds her that there is plenty of life for her yet to live.
