Abstract Artwork - Cyn Macgregor
Love, me - A special series because it is the first series I created with intention. Between 2001 and 2003 these paintings explore color, shape, and texture and use rice paper, distressed mediums, and just a touch of sparkle. A crackle technique is unique to my work and is part of this series to reinforce the notion that we often try to present ourselves as perfect as possible, and yet most of us are a bit flawed. But that’s all ok because the cracks in our lives are what make us each unique. Each painting has the words Love, me are cleverly painted, and easily seen for some but for others, it may take a closer look to find the words.
These paintings represent an open love letter as a way to remember to embrace the parts of me that I see as flawed, but others may see as gifts. Bold in bright colors, the series will hopefully provide a moment of happiness, a touch of love, and a bit of intrigue to the viewer. The 18” x 24” originals are not for sale,
Giclées (pronounced Gee'clay) are available.
